Elegant Nail Art: Black Shimmer with Gold Stripes

By  |

I love this manicure! It’s elegant and edgy at the same time! The nail color I chose this week is Zoya Storm. It is so beautiful! Zoya describes it as “a full coverage, holiday black with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter. Storm is elegant, powerful and versatile”. To me, it’s more of a deep charcoal than a black, which I really love. And the shine factor is off the charts! As with all Zoya nail polishes, it applies smoothly and evenly. I used 2 coats.

The striping design wasn’t exactly easy. It took me quite a while to get the striping tape exactly where I wanted it, and to trim it properly. It may have been because this is my first time using striping tape. I’m sure it will get easier the more I use it. I purchased the striping tape in a pack of 10 rolls (all different colors) for $9.99 at Sally’s Beauty Supply.

For an added flare, I added 6 gold studs to one accent finger. The studs are from Essence, and were $2.99 at Ulta.

I love it. I always preferred darker colors and I’ve been dying to get striping tape. I’ve looked everywhere and can never find it. Except Sally’s lol. *duh*

LOL!!! In your defense, I’ve looked for it at Sally’s before and had never seen it there until this week. 🙂 I was going to order it online – I’m so glad I didn’t!

I love those nails, so pretty! I also like how they are made inexpensively 🙂

Thank you so much April! I love being frugal 🙂 And the best part is, they last much longer than getting them painted at a nail salon. I don’t know what top coats they use, but their manicures usually chip within 2 days. Wasted money!
