I’ve been using Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base for 4 years, and it’s a primer I keep coming back to. It’s pricey, but definitely worth every penny. The creamy, thick texture goes on smoothly and really hydrates. It has a light and pleasant floral fragrance, but nothing overwhelming. I’m prone to migraines and have a sensitive nose, and this doesn’t bother me at all. It’s great for sensitive skin, too. I have very reactive skin, and this cream works wonders on it!
Who is it For?
Although Bobbi Brown says this primer is for normal to oily skin, I’ve found it to be best for dry to normal skin. The oil-free formula is very hydrating, and may cause oily skin to become a bit too shiny throughout the day. However, it’s heaven sent for dry skinned beauties! It keeps your skin dewy and moisturized, preventing dry patches and caking. It also keeps makeup from settling into fine lines and creases.

What Does it Do?
Glad you asked! This rich cream functions as both a primer and skincare. It applies easily and evenly, and smells wonderful!
As a primer, it grips foundation for longer, smoother wear. I’ve found that when I wear this, I use considerably less foundation, and my skin looks smoother and clearer.
As for the skincare aspect, it contains Vitamins B, C, and E, hyaluronic acid, squalane, and shea butter. Here’s a breakdown of what each of these skincare heroes do:
Vitamin B:
An antioxidant that reduces signs of aging, combats dryness
Vitamin C:
An antioxidant known for it’s brightening capabilities. Evens out skin tone and texture, reduces signs of aging
Vitamin E:
An antioxidant that encourages skin cell renewal, improving skin tone and texture. Works even better when combined with Vitamin C.
Hyaluronic Acid:
A naturally occuring substance that makes your skin hold on to water, banishing dryness. A must for that dewy look.
Squalane:
Anti-inflammatory. Reduces redness, moisturizes, reduces fine lines and wrinkles
Shea Butter:
Moisturizes and nourishes, keeps skin hydrated
Now that’s a very impressive ingredient list! I can say from personal experience that it indeed is very moisturizing and improves skin texture and clarity under makeup.
LoLinda’s Rating:
(4.5 / 5)
For keeping normal to dry skin hydrated and dewy, and making makeup look smoother, this primer gets 5 stars! However, if I were to rate it based solely on its performance as a primer, it would be just a little above average. If you have dry skin and need a primer that prevents dry patches and makeup from settling into fine lines, this one rates #1!
